Hamond Lead Times for January 2005
Current re-order times for parts not in stock are running 3-5 weeks for smaller parts that run on our smaller machines.
Our larger machines, used to make larger parts, are fully booked through the end of February (6 weeks) . Post-processing delays can stretch this to 8 or more weeks delay for large parts.
Raw material supply is still slow and can stretch these times depending on grade and local market conditions. And raw material prices, especially steel, continue to hang at high levels. However, the totally unpredictable steel delays seem to be behind us, and there are indications that steel prices will not now rise any furthur.
Parts in stock in support of an existing blanket purchase order can, as always, be shipped with only minimal delays.
Our design department is relatively free now to start new designs and our tool room will be free in time to work on any new designs given out by the toolroom.
