Hamond Lead Times for end of 2005 and Hamond Holiday Shutdown

Parts we hold in stock in support of an existing blanket purchase order can generally be shipped with only minimal delays, but during the holiday season, you must do some careful scheduling.

Hamond will be shutting down for the holidays on Thursday December 22nd at noon, and reopening Monday January 2nd.

If you need parts that we are holding for you during that time, or need parts to be sitting at your dock on Monday morning January 2nd, you will need to get your releases to us now so we can schedule shipments at appropriate times.

In terms of new orders, for parts not already in stock in our warehouse, our big machines are now fully booked between now and the end of January. If you want parts in February, and you don't already have your orders in, you need to call John quickly.

Our small machines are fully booked until the new year. There is some free time on the small machines in January.

Post-processors are currently processing our work promptly, but most of them, like us, will close for a week at the end of the year.

As always, you can consult our salesman John for more detailed information. Call him at 416-998-0212

Copper continues to be more expensive than it has been in years. That means Brass and Beryllium Copper (both copper alloys) are expensive too. So far I've had no shortage problems, but that could change (and has in the past when prices got this high - hording starts to kick in). Some of the copper price increase seems to have been due to market manipulation by a specific Chinese commodity trader, who tried to corner the market. If you're interested, you can read more here about the high prices and this unusual situation with the trader (also here).
